Abstract: ABSTRACT GLOBOCAN, International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in 2008 estimated that almost 90% of cervical cancer deaths occured in developing countries or poor countries, this was due to lack of screening of precancerous and early stages of cervical cancer. Data from the North Sumatra Provincial Health Office, the number of patients with cervical cancer in 2011 as many as 83 cases with the highest proportion at age 45-54 years. The purpose of descriptive study with cross-sectional design, was to describe the analysis of cervical cancer screening participation by using visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) method among the women of childbearing age in the working area of Berohol Public Health Center, Bajenis Subdistrict, the City of Tebing Tinggi. The population is all women of childbearing age who are married and have taken counseling about cervical cancer screening in the working area as many as 336 women. Sample size as many as 250 were obtained by using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis included stage of univariate, bivariate with chi square test, multivariate with multiple logistic regression at level of significance 5% and 95% CI. The result of bivariate analysis showed that the predisposing factors associated with cervical cancer screening participation namely education (p = 0,001; PR=0,27; 95% CI =0,14-0,54), occupation (p = 0,001; PR=4,21; 95% CI =3,08- 5,76), economic status (p = 0,001; PR=1,88 ; 95% CI =1,40-2,53), knowledge (p = 0,001; PR=3,05 ; 95% CI =2,03-4,57) and attitude (p = 0,001; PR=2,28; 95% CI =1,55-3,35). The result of multivariate analysis showed that the most contributed variable in cervical cancer screening participation by using VIA method was occupation (coefficient of B = -2,57). The management of Tebing Tinggi City Health Office and Berohol Public Health Center need to re-promotion programe on cervical cancer and cervical cancer screening and improve cross-sectoral and community leaders collaboration in terms of moving the women of childbearing age to do cervical cancer screening. For women of childbearing age who do not work it is suggested to attend promotion program of about cervical cancer and cervical cancer screening by using IVA method in the working area of Berohol Public Health Center, Bajenis Subdistrict, the City of Tebing Tinggi
